Biography:
I'm an Acafan! (Basically someone interested in fandom, manga , anime, cosplay etc.'s place within academia :) ) A recent graduate with a First Class BA (Hons) in English (my dissertation was on the presence of moe in yaoi dojinshi haha.) I'm hoping to promote fandom and manga within the academic sphere so such texts and communities can be considered upon the same level as 'high class literature' and it's creators.
I've been attending conventions/reading manga/cosplaying for a decade now and have also spent a time in Japan. In 2014 I was the recipient of the Ferdynand Zweig Scholarship, and provided with funding to research into foreign subcultures...I used it to research fujoshi in Japan, it was great fun!
I'm primarily interested in BL manga/anime, slash fanfiction, yaoi dojinshi (qI have so many favourites!) and their appreciators, but I also love various other shojo and shonen series' :)
