Silent Hill 2, Legend of Zelda, Shadow of the Collosus to name a couple of great original soundtracks. Sometimes I feel music get's easily overlooked in games. Awesome thread xD

Mario Kart (SNES) and N64 have very memorable soundtracks
After almost marathoning them for 3-4 months, I have nothing but the highest praises for the Ace Attorney soundtrack, especially the Objection, Pursuit and Prosecutor themes.
I still love the sounds of sonic and mario.

This is a hard one. Especially if VN's are included. I'm not going to make a choice from those here, but it'd likely be something along the lines of The Devil - G-senjou no maou or Kokoru - True remembrance But if I ignore those, well, I had the lyrical songs from the bastion ost around for a loooong while. And the Child of Light soundtrack was a great listen, made the game for me.
It doesn't matter how undignified the means, if you get the results, and don't compromise on your morals.

I'm SO gonna subscribe to this thread. So many awesome musical pieces in one place should actually be forbidden Castlevania, Ar Tonelico II (Replakia FTW), Doom...WHERE do I start here? Although I'm a huge fan of the late 80s and early 90s 8- and 16-bit music there's quite a bunch of games with simply awesome soundtracks. One of my favourites in the year 2011/12 is this one: Enjoy!

This little game here, has quite an awesome soundtrack overall. They did a really good job on the orchestra. But the theme of the backyard, is probably one of the battle themes pumping me up the most, whenever I hear it. Check this:
