What kind of sickness have you lied about so you wouldn't go to work or school?

I always lied that I have flu and can't even leave my bed so I wouldn't go to school before. But now that I am working, I always use the same excuse, there's a flood on the next street and I couldn't pass through. I hate going to work when it's raining.

If I absolutely have to, I claim botchulism. Very hard to prove either way. I've not had a day off work sick in nearly three years, though.

On two separate occassions I've claimed food poisoning. Haven't done that in years though. I always feel bad when I have to miss work anyway. xD

I get rather bold when claiming sickness. I used to claim normal things such as flu, then started to make them more and more ostentatious. Such as accidentally consuming hallucinagenic mushrooms from the garden and aggressive fleas.

I usually just say "I can't come in" because really, I'm better off giving less detail.

The other day I had to call off for an appointment and had people asking if I was okay, though. I didn't have the heart to tell anyone I wasn't actually sick.

Last week I lied about having a bad back. In truth I was fine but I needed to get my bike sorted for its MOT.

When I got back to work Friday my manager wasn't happy.

I feel terrible about lying about it so much but I always just said I stomach pains, simple but you know...

Although I've never lied to my employer about being ill I constantly pulled sickies for school!

I blame my grandfather's girlfriends' cooking. She's the worst cook and my boss knows it, so if I say I have food poisoning, he knows where it comes from. Calling in doesn't result in less pay, either, since I can just make up the hours within the two-week pay period.

My mom used to go all out, but she would use me as an excuse. As far as her co-workers know, I fell down a flight of stairs at school and broke my leg and then I was anemic (those are the only excuses I know of).

Honestly, I was sick so much for real in school that I never really had to make up an excuse. Same with work, I guess. During school/childhood it was Strep throat, which I got all the damn time. Now it's migraines, anxiety, and dizziness. My body hates me.

If I had to lie, I'd probably just say the flu or something.
