No more having to create Hardyz and Angles. I must say it's the older superstars who haven't been in the games for a while that get me to buy the new games when they return. I don't even mind the glitches. There's been so many over the years it's become a selling point itself. Watch out when fighting backstage in the office for 2K18. The furniture gets hungry.

He's return was disappointing not retaining the tag team titles that long with brother Matt and also an ICT title opportunity against The Miz and lost that match too...

      Re: The WWE thread

I jumped back in hard and heavy into the wrestling scene for WrestleMania 31 and just a few months ago finally checked back out. There was a lot of good in that time but I just became to frustrated with WWE and could not justify being so heavily invested in NJPW to only watch one show a month on their streaming site. On a whim I resubbed to the WWE Network for the last NXT PPV, which was and always is just a blast. I am a little salty I still haven't managed to watch Balor vs Styles from the last PPV, but my Sub canceled like two days before the show and I didn't feel like paying for another month just to see one match. I'll probably look around so I can watch it somewhere this weekend.

      Re: The WWE thread

Balor vs Styles is worth a watch, probably the highlight as the main event of TLC was a bit of a mess, even with Angle there. I'm somewhat in the same boat in terms of oversaturation. Watch some NJPW and a lot of British wrestling like ICW, WCPW and Progress. Got proper into WWE/F in 1998, left when I no longer had Sky and we'd lost Eddie at the end of 2005, then came back in 2010 when Kane finally had a heavyweight title reign worth remembering.

Managed to go to WrestleMania 33 live this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Think they peaked in terms of roster and storylines. It's sadly been a bit of a decline since then though. Hopefully things pick up for WrestleMania 34. At least NXT never misses a beat. Just a shame some of the greats can't stay there forever.

Yeah, the current roster is probably why I'm most out on WWE currently. I don't know if you could have a much more athletically gifted roster than they do right now, so I'm constantly frustrated that I'm not very invested at all. I've had this discussion with a podcast community I was a part of before they quit recently, but the way WWE tries to do and be everything doesn't make them successful at being everything, it just makes them lack a real identity. Without knowing who they really are or want to be as a company, they can't put their weight behind a single vision for their company like other companies can. Obviously they're still the biggest out there, but I honestly feel like its in spite of their best efforts in a lot of ways. NJPW knows they want to be as impressive and realistic and athletic as possible, so they pace themselves as a company and don't have too many shows so they can afford to go all out for each match. To a lesser extent, Lucha Underground knows that their strengths are in storytelling because they write and tape the show in seasons.

I don't know. I'm just sad. I really like a lot of the WWE roster and want to keep watching but watching the story lines as a writer is next to impossible because of how overly complex, convoluted, and nonsensical things get. Selective continuity, baby faces everyone hates and bad guys everyone loves, its just...

      Re: The WWE thread

@Juuza indeed it was, apart from the awkward experience of trying to meet Hulk Hogan at his beach shop opening where he tried to charge people nearly $400 and the time I had my eyes closed during a photo op with Ivory and Jaqueline, it mostly went fine and sunny. Always recommend going for the East Coast Manias for the full experience.

@Limitless agreed. Think one of the main issues is repetition too. Their current Raw vs SmackDown storyline has been played out so many times that it will always be compared to previous years, perhaps worse each year it happens. I have no issue with the matches themselves, nor the finishes most of the time. It's just more difficult to get into the build for feuds because of the lack of build for the talent. That's why I hear a lot of talk about NXT being a sign Triple H will take over one day and making the other shows similar to that. I'd like to believe it would happen, but it may be too late if the product stagnates any more while the wrestling companies around the 'world' bring world wrestling to more tv stations and more audiences.

I've stopped watching Raw and SD live anyway. Usually just stick to Network based shows and PPVs and catch the rest via highlights on Youtube. Even then, you have problems that could easily be rectified with 205 live and the UK division. Those are the shows that need pushing out there with new ideas. Don't let them waste away.

      The best promo ever uttered:

YOU KNOW THEY SAY ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL. BUT YOU LOOK AT ME AND YOU LOOK AT SOMOA JOE AND YOU CAN SEE THAT STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE! SEE NORMALLY IF YOU GO 1 ON 1 WITH ANOTHER WRESTLER YOU GOT A 50/50 CHANCE OF WINNING! BUT I'M A GENETIC FREAK AND I'M NOT NORMAL! SO YOU GOT A 25% AT BEST AT BEAT ME! AND THEN YOU ADD KURT ANGLE TO THE MIX, YOU THE CHANCES OF WINNING DRASTIC GO DOWN! SEE THE 3 WAY AT SACRIFICE YOU GOT A 33 1/3 CHANCE OF WINNING. BUT I, I GOT A 66 2/3 CHANCE OF WINNING CAUSE KURT ANGLE KNOWS HE CAN'T BEAT ME AND HE'S NOT EVEN GONNA TRY! SO SOMOA JOE YOU TAKE YOUR 33 1/3 CHANCE MINUS MY 25% CHANCE AND YOU GOT 8 1/3 CHANCE OF WINNING AT SACRIFICE. BUT THEN YOU TAKE MY 75% CHANCE OF WINNING IF WE WAS TO GO 1 ON 1 AND THEN ADD 66 2/3 %. I GOT A 141 2/3 CHANCE OF WINNING AT SACRIFICE! SENIOR JOE?THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE AND THEY SPELL DISASTER FOR YOU AT SACRIFICE!

You guys are out of your mind making it a table match because tonight we’re gonna’ beat ‘chu at your own game. If they won't induct him for his previous threats, they should induct both Steiners together at least. Also Chyna. And Davey Boy Smith.

Yet it's Hillbilly Jim getting in this year.... whut? http://www.wwe.com/shows/wwe-hall-of...-2018-inductee

Hillbilly Jim is a good choice but I hear they want to put Kid Rock into the celebrity wing of the HOF. The celebrity wing is what is wrong with the hall of fame, Drew Carey is in the HOF but The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette are not.
