Spoiler: I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. (Evelyn Beatrice Hall) Information wants to be free. (Stewart Brand) The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum—even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate. (Noam Chomsky) (about neoliberalism) Instead of citizens, it produces consumers. Instead of communities, it produces shopping malls. The net result is an atomized society of disengaged individuals who feel demoralized and socially powerless. (Robert W. McChesney) Liberty without socialism is privilege and injustice, socialism without liberty is slavery and brutality. (Mikhail Bakunin) Man, your head is haunted; you have wheels in your head! You imagine great things, and depict to yourself a whole world of gods that has an existence for you, a spirit-realm to which you suppose yourself to be called, an ideal that beckons to you. You have a fixed idea! Do not think that I am jesting or speaking figuratively when I regard those persons who cling to the Higher, and (because the vast majority belongs under this head) almost the whole world of men, as veritable fools, fools in a madhouse. (Max Stirner) No one else can help you discover what you really want and what you really need. You can only discover it yourself. No one else can convince you. You can only convince yourself. No one else can liberate you. You can only liberate yourself. (Who Cares) 6.373 The world is independent of my will. (Ludwig Wittgenstein) Principle of tolerance: we are not in the business of setting up prohibitions but of arriving at conventions (…) In logic there are no morals. Everyone is welcome to set up their logic, i.e., their form of language, as they please. If they want to discuss it with us, though, they need to (…) give syntactical specifications rather than philosophical debates. (Rudolf Carnap, slightly modified)
good choices i have Elfen Lied and Terror in Resonance as well as Ergo Proxy and Texhnolyze so i know they are good, Psycho Pass is cool too, i have the series and movie and Lain too.... that may be too much for the guy hes more up on manga but im teachin him the anime ropes so to speak. Shiki was ok but it was slow and till the end not any solid progression in the form of pace to the series so i didnt enjoy it really. maybe a show like death note or appleseed and tokyo ghoul.... what do you think?
I didn't like Tokyo Ghoul, but it certainly is popular. Death Note is a good choice, but the ending wasn't that great. But I still recommend it. I have only read the manga for Appleseed, and it was great, but I cannot say too much about the anime.
you know ive collected anime since 1994 and i dont even have a copy of the first Berserk series and they are expensive to buy now but it would be good to have for me at least, also i asked about Darker than Black and they hated the part they watched so its confusing to pick for a strange person with such avid opinions for good and bad not much middle ground.
Well, it's not really possible to predict what would a random person like. You need to know the person quite well first.
the first release in the 80-90's was alot better to me than the new editions using CGI, the Appleseed original was great though and so was Black Magic M-66 so check it out if you havent yet.
I've seen Black Magic M-66 Yeah, the CGI Berserk was a mistake.
i get that but i am really versed in anime with my collected titles and knowledge but i wanted to get another opinion to help out
Sure. Are there any titles on my list you haven't seen?
Shin Sekai Yori, Bokurano, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Mardock Scramble, Gilgamesh, Jin-Rou, Now and Then, Here and There, Berserk, and Death Parade..... i havent got to see yet
I've added some titles to the end of the list.

So these are all great anime. Watch Shin Sekai Yori and Puella Magi Madoka Magica first. Also, don't get discouraged by a couple of first episodes of these two. These anime are not something they appear to be at first. They will take you for a ride.
i own all 3 of those that got added but im wanting a idea of the type of anime you say will be good since its not mine then im tryin to work for another fan so any added info would help.... and thanks for tryin to add more to the list but ive got 5000 so im a hard one to pick for anyway.
I think you know the person much better than I. So it's better if you make the decision.
