This evening I went to see Alita : Battle Angel and if I'm total honest I was expecting this to be another Manga/Anime that hollywood has picked up and ruined but with this film that wasn't the case.

The film Stays true to the Source material and tells the story of Alita. A Discarded cyborg found in a scrap yard by Dr Ido, a Compationate Cyber-Doctor that takes the abandoned Alita back to his clinic in Iron City. He repairs her and when she awakens she finds herself with no memory of who she is, where she comes from or any idea of the world that she now finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past but meets Hugo, a street smart young man that tries to help Alita recover her lost memories.

Watching this movie is a feast for the eyes, as the visual effects and CG is stunning. The fight sequences are very action packed and if your into sci fi you'll enjoy this film. Even if your not into sci fi the story and characters will keep you entertained as I found Alita to be very pure and open at the beginning, becoming more aware of her abilities and her surroundings as the story progressed.

All in all a very good rendition of a classic manga/anime brought to life using live action

What El said is right, this is a great movie 8.5/10.

For a manga adaptions this is 100% a step in the right direction, the visuals and story are on point.
The only thing that I'm upset with is that there is a few jumps in the story that would have been good to expand on.

Oh the one liner's are fucking great too.

Blade runner was awfully dull, a bit like the first one, I know, controversial

For me, it was quite enjoyable even though I don't follow the manga. I am a fan of Rosa though, so that may have played a part.
