I got an idea for something like Battle of the Band but for all forms of art and writing. I am figuring out all details. But instead of posting your favorite you post your least favorite. Then that person is eliminated. Then a next theme is announced and do the same til the last one is standing in each category.
Posting this here so I don't forget.. 1 on 1 battles.People sign up for Drawing,GFX,Writing,AMV.Then are paired with another person same subject.People vote on the best.Winner goes to the next round. I will be typing this up soon!
theme events tend to draw in a few people, but you gotta make them approachable by everynyan like a christmas event would be good, because most nations that post here celebrate christmas (the two big being the UK followed by the US) 12 days of christmas event or something? maybe drawing/gfxing/writing your favorite holiday song? heck, we could even add in kwanzaa and hanukkah if we wanted, though i'm not sure how many people celebrate either of those here... 1 v 1 battles are very approachable however, and have been done lots in the past when this section was more active, so that one could be really solid
Both the 12 Days of Christmas and Favorite holiday song idea seems awesome to me.Those we can start next month of course but write up drafts before then.I will be working on some drafts the next few days.
What do you guys think of another game idea of drawing from memory? The idea being you draw a prompt totally from memory without looking up the character first (eg draw a Pikachu), and try not to take more than like 5-10 minutes. Could be on paper, or digital, or whatever really! When you complete a prompt, create another one, so you've drawn a Pikachu now the next person draws a Snorlax. Maybe keep the theme Pokémon to try out? The idea is to be really casual and fun and open to everyone, maybe a prize for the most posts too?

it's definitely a good concept, 'cause it could even bring in people who don't feel like they can draw we could even have some of the "better" (i hate to use that term for art, since everyone's learning/capable of their own skill level and growth) artists as judges if we want to give out extra points / a BEST ARTING award
What are your thoughts on tutorials? Like a beginner thing where a person is teaching a art form to others. I have been toying with that idea in my head for a while.
Also you guys are more then welcome to post a draft here in the Staff section if you have an idea. Then we can always change things before officially posting it.
I've posted a few, and now Photobucket is uplinking the pictures again. Tutorials are great.
Spoiler: ALJ - Expendable's Labyrinth of Dreams Creative Writing: Something Fun Expendable's Little Blue Box
Tutorials are a great idea. I feel like we have a lot of qualified GFXers that that could really succeed on that front! Writing too, lots of great writers here. I feel like most of the artists come and go though, so that may be tricky...
True most artists come and go but we still have decent artists on our Staff
