End of the 21st Century, Mankind develops new wings, thanks to both a reactionless drive and an FTL Alcubierre warp drive, years in development. Ships set out across the void, looking for new worlds - and finding them. Some prove to be human-compatible.

We also find artifacts - ancient structures, rusting wrecks, but no living beings. It's as if they all disappeared suddenly. Nobody's sure if it was some kind of catastrophe or a war, but it seems long ago. Still, the first settlers decided they were best to keep themselves armed.

Slowly, the colonies grew, by selecting people willing to work hard and had the necessary skills they needed to make the colonies succeed. Their planning paid off well, a few were even talking about independence from Earth.

And then it happened - colony ships from Earth arrived and drop off thousands of ill-prepared involuntary colonists. Most of them had been on welfare their entire lives, and were demanding homes and benefits - and rioting when they didn't get them.

The colony world of Alexandria rebelled. Calling the rioters into a sports stadium, the colonial militia demanded they drop their weapons. Instead, they surged forward, and found themselves facing assault rifles and machine guns. Few of the rioters escaped.

Earth responded by forming the Terran Federation and the Federation Fleet. Alexandria fell to the thud of Federation Marine boots, their government officials rounded up and shot to the cheers of the involuntary colonists. The other colonies were not spared, either. Valhalla, Majorian, Hestia, Bellataine, Zhangzhong, Aporia, Fiddler's Green, Brakis, Montgomery, Nova Skopje, Taishō. It took four bloody years before the Terran Federation had taken over the last of the free colonies, placing a Terran Federation governor and troops in charge. Still, they needed the original settlers to help support the thousands of involuntary colonists being deported by Earth, so a general amnesty was declared.

Of course, not everyone was happy to return to making a living scratching in the dirt, since it was mostly going to people who did nothing to earn it. More than a few found themselves stranded on worlds after the war with no way of getting back.

Some took up banditry. Some took up bounty hunting. Some took up trading. (And some became very good at multi-tasking.)

Strengths: Can be linked to most planetary/shipboard comm systems (Fee service), accepts voice commands. Portable personal entertainment tool with app store. GPS enabled. Customizable/storage for personal files.
Weaknesses: 10 mile communication range, standard civilian encryption. On screen keyboard/small display, anything complex will usually require a docking station and/or wireless peripherals. 5 day battery life/12 hours continous streaming. 1 datachip slot.

Strengths: Diamond-chip architecture allows it to operate in hostile environments without loss of function and radiation-hardened, can survive drops without shattering synthetic diamond screen/internal components. TEMPEST III shielding. Can be linked to most planetary/shipboard comm systems. AR Glasses

Manufacturer: Seares Industries - Entertainment Products Division
Rarity: Common
Appearance: Type I look like regular glasses and can be made into prescription lenses; Type II look like plastic impact-resistant safety glasses.
Intent: Multiuse device that has replaced personal phones and computers, links to city networks or systems and displays information as screens, wearers can make phone calls and have limited interaction with virtual objects; most often used in gaming and visual entertainment.
Strengths: Allows the use of simple gestures - balling of the fist while extending the thumb and pinky brought up to the ear signals the intent to make/receive a phone call - user can specify who they are calling. Holding hands in front brings up a virtual keyboard for terminal mode. User can reach out to "touch" a virtual object to select it.
Weaknesses: Must be joined to a system or network to work. Cannot actually touch virtual objects. Some accidents where players have followed virtual objects into traffic or unsafe locations.

Broomstick Transport

Rarity: Uncommon
Appearance: Compact lightweight frame with a small seat and luggage rack on top and folding foot rests. Frame holds a closed fuel cell nestled between two small reactionless lifters. A folding handlebar with headlight is connected to a small reactionless thruster that cantilevers under the frame for flight mode, the unit turns with the handlebars. If folded, safety interlock cuts off the thruster.
Intent: Portable compact scooter primarily used for ground transport of paratroopers deployed in the field; repurposed by ship crews as personal transport to terminal.
Strengths: Easily stored. Closed fuel cell allows for use in any environment. 25 pounds weight.
Weaknesses: Maximum 500 pound lift, 20 pound thrust. Maximum speed 40 mph. 8 hours operation. One hand must be on grips at all times or the safeties kick in and the unit cuts power to lower to the ground.

Sorry Expendable I was wondering are you ready for us to start making characters yet on this or is still ongoing prep? I know you said in the creative section you were working on a few things? It's all right if it's not don't want to rush things just had my eye on this one and was hopeful.
