      However, magic seems to be a part of the natural ecosystem as well and later in the manga Benno says that the amount of magic determines harvest yields
      I can no longer claim to be able to estimate whether deforestation would be an issue.

      I don't think most readers would ask it. Some sense of ecological conservation isn't quite common knowledge.

      I finished the manga and started on chapter 71 of the LN. I am now on chapter 74.
