So... First episode is tonight! I have been looking forward to this for a long time and I really hope it sticks to TNG and other 90s Star Trek series, I know it will be darker and gritty but I want it to stick true. Even made my partner watch several episodes of TNG to 'catch up' on certain character building points. Who else is ready for it?
Processing....
It was a good episode.. I'm glad they have gone with the 1 a week model.. Gives time for conspiracy theories.. Looking forward to seeing the old characters.. I loved Voyager when I was a kid..
I loved Voyager as well, especially what happened to the Borg. Not too sure what to make of that Romulan base, looks like a repurposed Borg cube

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
I'm mildly interested in Star Trek: Picard, but CBS All Access is one of the few streaming services I don't have. I'm not sure I want to get it for literally one show I'm mildly interested in. I think I'm gonna wait and read how the story unfolds a bit first. Mainly because I want to see how many ties the series is going to have to Nemesis. Because Nemesis is hot garbage.
Whilst Nemesis wasn't exactly great I still enjoyed it. My partner and I just watched it on Amazon Prime, might be worth waiting until the last episode comes might be worth getting it for one month and binge watching
I want to watch it, I could get the steaming service there's quite a few shows I wouldn't mind watching including older tv shows.
Yeah I have Netflix and Prime, all the classics are on Netflix
Finished watching the first episode, and I have some thoughts. First of all, it made me go back and rewatch the old TNG episode "The Measure of a Man". It's an amazing episode, given more gravitas by ST. I almost lost my mind when the name dropped Bruce Maddox, and that he had disappeared following the attack on Mars. It almost feels like they're going down the Mass Effect 3 "synthetics versus organics" narrative, which I honestly don't mind. It's something they've never really explored within the Star Trek universe, so I'll be interested in seeing where it goes and what they do with it. I'd rather have something different than the usual rogues gallery of antagonists. Yes, I know the Romulans are involved but something tells me they're not the big bads here. Something bigger is going on. My theory? The synthetics that attacked Mars, kidnapped Maddox with the intention of using him to either make more of their 'race' or 'fix them' or something to that degree. Or maybe they'll go with an Arik Soong angle, and have it so Maddox willingly disappeared with them and helps them out since he views them as his "children". I'm super intrigued and can't wait for more. Honestly, I'm just glad to be getting more Star Trek.
Yo buddy, still alive?
Spoiler: Soon as Dahj met Picard I had a crazy theory she was Lal, which is a shame because I only remember the Offspring TNG episode for how cringy it was. I think the last scene was deliberately misleading, either that or we'll be seeing Hue next episode.
