Desperation: A Vampire's Story

Lynn followed the others up the steps into the castle, amazed by the sheer mystery of it all. The doors seemed overly large and inviting for a place such as this. A dark sort of aura, or was it an aire? hung around the place, clinging like a dense fog. The feeling increased as she stepped into the hall.

Her eyes jumped to the statue and then the man standing in front of it. He was a dark looking character but old-worldly and handsome. Not as handsome as her darling husband, rest his soul, but that was the past. He began to speak to them, introducing himself as their host, Marco. He met Olivia first and came to her.

"Lynn, its a pleasure to be your guest."

[Faithy]

“Ah, the sea. A wondrous place. I highly suggest any sort of extended cruise. There are a few places that…are exquisite to visit. The arctic circle, especially. Oh, the Northen Lights. Beautiful.”

“That sounds intriguing. Perhaps after this, I will take an extended cruise to the exotic places you are referencing. It would be most wondrous and entertaining”

At long last, the carriage came to a stop. Mia was quite pleased that they finally arrived at the castle. It was becoming difficult to keep from flashing her fangs, and she had a feeling that Darla felt the same way. Still, the two managed to keep from alerting the hjmans that they were in the same space as two blood-suckers as she’s heard Vampyre’s called before. It mattered not to her, because those that spoke such things generally didn’t live for very long. Stretching out, she glanced over at Gerard who had finally calmed down.

The door finally opened, and Mia glanced at the young boy who was standing outside the carriage, helping them out of the quaint device. Stepping out after the others, she nodded her thanks and felt Gerard wrapping his arm around her waist, hugging onto her snugly. She meanwhile however was busy glancing around the grounds, taking not just the view of the castle in, but the male servants that were standing before them. Everything was so interesting, and she was just about to grin, when she remembered to keep her identity secret for the time being. Nodding once again when it was made clear that the master of the castle was waiting within the exquisite structure to meet them, Senshi could feel the excitement starting to rise within her. That was momentarily replaced with another emotion when she could sense at least one werewolf within their vicinity. He was inquiring whether or not there was room for him to rest, and Mia nearly grinned with anticipation. Tonight was going to be a barrel of laughs.

It’s been ages since I’ve been this close to a live werewolf. This will be most enjoyable!

As the group moved inside the castle, she found herself once again glancing around in order to take in as much as she possibly could. The view was nearly flawless, and as they stepped out into a room with stairs, she flicked her tongue against her fangs, although she kept them covered for the time being. Moving her attention towards a large angelic dark marble statue, Mia studied it silently. Well, more specifically, she was examining the male standing in front of the statue. Allowing the humans to approach Marcus first, Mia stepped forward with Gerard, curtsying ever so slightly.

“The name is Mia and this is Gerard. It’s a pleasure to be among your company.”

He followed behind them silently, intrigue keeping him silent and rather observing than actually saying anything...just yet.

They were led into the beautiful castle where they were greeted by their host Marco and as he introduced himself, Gavin made sure that he quickly studied the group around him. Two female and one male human, and two vampires. Of course not counting the host and those under his control.

At this point it was very obvious why others were disappearing from nearby villages. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he grimaced. He was half torn with feeling sorry for the humans and wanting to protect them. He glanced at the male with the one female vampire, and discarded that thought quickly. Any human male succumbing to the charms of a vampire is certainly a fool...

His gaze slid to the other two human females and assessed them carefully. The one that caught his attention was rather fascinating. The other was interesting, but seemed to easy. Easy like prey... The situation was immediately simplified in his mind, at least he thought it was. Crystal blue eyes turned their attention onto the two vampires.

A definite challenge... and perhaps fun.

For now he wanted food and a place to leave his luggage and possible find a soft, comfortable bed later. With thoughts like those he turned his attention to the host and stepped forward, extending his hand in a firm grip.

'Pleased to meet you,' he said and smiled devilishly. 'My name is Gavin, and I do believe you offer some interesting sights and a bed for the night from what I hear. So I have decided to come pay a visit.' He dropped his hand after the greeting and stepped back to allow the others the pleasure of introducing themselves.

At this point he was listening to their introductions with great interest- nothing escaping his attention.

Marco kissed the hands offered by the female humans, watching the one in the dress blush and holding back a look of surprise as the other remained cordial and calm. She was going to be quite the challenge for whom ever decided to play with her. This was dangerous game, but in the end the immortals would come out as always.

A vampire came next, the one with the pet, introducing herself as Mia. A lovely thing she was and he took her in with a lingering look. It was not a look of lust but rather of amusement, noting her to be an excellent guest. He kissed her hand coming up with a whisper that she would enjoy herself in her ventures here, he was sure. With a look and a handshake from the male human he moved to the werewolf.

"A pleasure, sir. I do offer some interesting...activities, even for those of particular tastes. But I'm sure you were aware of that. Welcome."

Olivia was transfixed on those who stood behind Marco. They were all so dark and beautiful, some looked cunning while others as though they were under a sort of spell. She could see why. This place was amazing!

Flashing a grin without showing her fangs towards Marco, the lithe female sent a burst of blood into her cheeks to stimulate a blush. She was definitely glad she had already fed or that would be a near impossible feat. Nodding at his comment, she knew that tonight was going to be most exciting no matter what happened. Stepping back with Gerard, Mia shifted her gaze towards the other individual, studying him closely. Deciding to find out all she could about it, Mia listened closely as the male identified himself to be Gavin. He seemed to be a very interesting person, and perhaps one to play with for a while before dispatching.

Yawning widely, her hand covering her mouth, Senshi let her gaze shift away from Gavin and towards the human females. One seemed a little more aware than she probably should have, but that didn’t mean a thing. Humans generally were weak individuals and could be rolled with the right circumstances and she looked forward to that challenge. Gerard was busy staring around at those behind Marco as well as the infrastructure of the building they were in. The more she watched him, the more aware she became that he was entertained by just about anything.

It’s a pity I won’t be keeping him. He’s entertaining for now, but I’ve made it a point to never take a human with me as a pet. It’s just not …eh… humane.

“So, what do we do now, Marco? I’m excited to get the festivities underway.”

Darla let the others talk. She was busy looking at the décor of the mansion. It pleased her. So many little things to look at. She did so appreciate the pieces she saw around her. Ah, if only she had chosen not to extend the pirate’s honor to this man. She would have been able to leave with her pockets bursting full. Ah, but she was beholden to not steal anything.

Sighing softly, she realized her faux pas of not introducing herself, so when her host had taken a moment of pause, she tipped her hat and purred a soft “Darla Kensing, pleasure,” at him. She almost, almost smiled at him, but caught herself and ducked her head again. She should be polite. Eye candy, deliectable blood and corruptables aside, Darla had extended her courtesy to this vampire, so she had to be calm for a few more hours.

She’d take one of the men though, when it came time for dinner.

Gavin smiled as the host pointed out the obvious. 'Indeed...I was aware of it,' he thought and and moved behind the others. It was all he needed. Confirmation that something was not entirely right and that the disappearance of people in neighbouring towns were indeed, unfortunate souls who in most likely cases lost their souls to an untimely death.

He could only imagine.

But was it his problem? The more Gavin thought on the subject, the more he realised, it was not.

Realising their attention was all but focused on the introductions and others, he casually took the opportunity to slip away unnoticed. His footsteps were light and he took create care in slipping through the entrance door, before making his way out of the grounds.

He has seen enough and if anyone looked- only the shadow of a wolf lingered for an instant, before it vanished quietly.
