      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      Name: Carlos
      Age: 21
      Gender: Male
      Race: Human
      Pact beast: Faery http://www.layoutsparks.com/1/27718/...ple-wings.html
      Price of pact: sense of justice
      Powers gained through pact: ( choose 3 )

      Selectively interact with his surroundings (intangible)
      Assimilation through contact with skin
      Mouth energy blast(always need a mouth blast!!!)

      Appearance: http://img3.cdn.crunchyroll.com/i/sp...c7c30_full.jpg
      Personality: Merciless. Lives for confrontation
      History: Carlos has witnessed horrible crimes against others, but in a moment of weakness accepted the help of a faery. This particular faery being from the 9th level of hell, corrupted his soul. He asked for power to protect the weak, but became the destruction that currently plagues them.

      He was being pursued. What could the man want from him. He was homeless, he had nothing but his morals and random beer he came across. Fearing the dark alleys he ran into the crowded streets. Every time he looked back he saw him. A shadow, his long hair, his cold eyes staring at him with the vengeance of a demon. Bumping into a woman the homeless man fell to the ground as the woman begin screaming derogatory statements at him which he couldn't even here. As he crawled to his feet a gloved hand reached through his chest. But it didn't hurt, it merely existed from his chest. It descended slowly into his body. The old man petrified froze on the spot as the womans screams garnered more and more attention. The hand emerged again and left a lump on his chest, which continued to beat on top of him. Then the horrible pain set in, like no other before it. The body attempting to function without a crucial organ. The man died in agonizing pain and screams. Slowly from the shadows a man was scene smiling, but faded away as if he never was truly there to begin with...
      I will derail your thread. I will derail it viciously, and your once smoothly run thread will become a pit, full of chaos and carnage. Its what I do. Seriously. It will be fun. And you will enjoy it. But the lack of control will bother you. Get over it. Stop being a pansy. And let me do my thing.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      The longer Mia remained leaning against the wall, the more she came to realize that she wasn’t in the correct place. Swearing long and loud before heading for the doorway, her slender digits gripped the handle of the ornate door before jerking it open. Sauntering out, her crimson eyes glanced up and down the corridor in hopes of finding more people to follow. Of course no one was there, which meant she was going to have to wander around. She hated wandering senselessly, but obviously no one was going to come for her. Hell, no one probably even knew or cared she was missing. She didn’t know any of the other knights or at least she was fairly sure none were known to her. Crossing both arms against her chest, she thought about just leaving, but figured another annoying letter would make its way into her life.

      “I AM LESS THAN IMPRESSED!”

      Her voice echoed down the empty hallway, reminding her of the canyons back home. Snorting, Senshi traced her footsteps back towards the entrance, hoping that there was someone there to tell her where to go. Luck was definitely not on her side today, that was for sure. The closer she came to the courtyard, the more she just wanted to leave and never return. She kept her pact animal a secret for the most part because of what happened in the past. She didn’t want to be judged and certainly didn’t feel like being hunted. Finally emerging out to where everyone else seemed to be gathering, she shot them all an unreadable look before stepping towards a tree. Using the trunk as a leaning post, she once again attempted to get comfortable while keeping her guard up.

      At long last the king appeared on the steps and she couldn’t help the tension that immediately filled her body. Hoping the voice stayed out of her mind long enough to hear what needed to be said, Mia couldn’t help but flinch at the sound of the gong reverberating throughout the area. Sweeping her red hair behind her shoulders, the teenager flicked her tongue against her dry lips, wetting them. Her eyes shifted from the king to his royal court and finally back to the king again. She wasn’t sure why, but she felt quite threatened and the dragon beneath her stirred nervously.

      "As you are all aware, the Wretched one has burst from her tomb. We do not know how, perhaps a dark servant of her apocalyptic cause. We have not summoned you here for a petty cause, the last time we fought this beast we nearly lost."

      It was as Mia feared. Unsure if she should stay around to hear the rest, or take off before someone realizes what her pact beast was, she chewed on her bottom lip. Deciding to wait for the moment, she tilted her head and listened to the other men and the king as he spoke once again. So, they needed to work together and there was a chance of perishing on this journey? Yeah, that sounded absolutely delightful. Snorting and shaking her head as the king continued, Senshi cared not about becoming queen. Her arms crossed against her chest as she closed her eyes, lifting her face up towards the sky as a female courtier told the group where they thought the dragon was supposedly at before she and the rest of the court headed back inside.

      “Maybe the dragon is lonely and wants a friend…

      Skron Grinned a merciless grin as the king spoke, the only reason he was here was because of his ambitions, but to kill a dragon, that would be an impressive feat and surely such tales would reach his homeland and make even his preciouse witch king qauver in his boots.
      "Im in" he whole heartedly agreed, after all its not like he could really die, the ogre inside him wouldnt let him and you had better belive he tried, besside dragons have hoards didnt they, maybe he would find something useful amongst its treasure.
      he smiled calmly as every looked at him in surprise he was the first to agree and clearly no one expected him to be.
      "There is a lot about Dark elves you do not understand, we live for combat and a challange, and glory. A dragon, well what glory there will be." He stood up and raised a chalice to the king before dwoing its contents.
      "I pledge my sword to you "king"" he hissed.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      She could feel eyes on her from the very same woman she had lain her own on but she did not look back. Her attentions attached to the growing frustrations of those around her. Hestia had nailed the idea of the girl who did not grow impatient during the wait. Her nature was sweet and angelic like the voice she had lost. There was no reason to grow angry with the king as he must have much to be concerned with. Her patience was rewarded with the appearance of the old man.

      The blonde stood there, listening carefully and gathering the expressions of each knight. Some showed shock, others anger, and some more like herself merely stayed blank and contemplated the situation. It would be difficult to have them work together, so many tensions existed. There was no doubt that it would be difficult but she had a fleeting feeling she would survive by some miracle. It was terribly morbid to think of any of the others dying but that was the reality of war. Perhaps she would be with them but the feeling lingered.

      Shifting her weight slightly she listened to the rest of the information and wondered what would happen next. Would a leader emerge or would they all attempt to take control of destiny? Now that the information was given she looked around. Who among them would be champions of their races and of their world?

      Jack had heard the king in his head when he had been floating around. It was time to return to the knights who he had passed. Returning the way he came he came back to Fuerot and the group by him. Jack simply nodded and lingered by them. He knew that some knights despised him thinking him rude and pompous for not speaking to anyone. When in truth he couldn't, jack waited for them to move and he would follow them. The king had spoken, and said the the one who returns will be king jack didn't need to be king nor did he care if he returned he had lived a boring life if he died no one would miss him. Jack didn't normally think like this his pact made his thoughts sometimes suicidal only because the faery inside his soul never truly embraced life. Jack only needed to follow the knights to the wretched one and kill her. Easy enough, though he doubted that it would be so easy.

      "If only this wasn't going to be my last quest." Jack thought and smiled to himself.

      Jack had waited if not impatiently for the king to arrive and speak, now that he had he had said the thing most of the knights knew was going to happen but didn't want it to. Jack didn't care about them enough to sympathize with them. They all had lives to lead and so did he he just wanted his to end and trying to kill the wretched one was about the best way he could go out.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      Fuerot was hastily making his way towards the place where he had been told the knight from the desert was. He was looking forward to causing a little mischief Rubicon but that soon came to a halt when Lilly appeared.

      “Where are you going?”

      Despite her cute, doll-like visage the girl acted far older than she appeared to be and was wiser than any small child. If you spoke to her for awhile it would become apparent that she was a woman trapped in the body of a child.

      “Well errrr…I…errr we’re…”

      "You look like you are up to no good... causing trouble?"

      He scratched the side of his face with his finger as he realised that the girl knew what was going on before he’d even said anything. The look in her eyes said something about the unhappiness within but it was hard to tell if it was directed at him or just anger at her situation in general. Before he could speak the gong sounded, the king had arrived.

      He cast a sideways glance at Rubicon,

      “Looks like meeting the desert knight will have to wait.”

      He began walking off,

      “Let’s go.”

      He said to both Lilly and Rubicon.

      ---------------------

      Feurot stood and listened to the king’s address. It was short and to the point. He looked around at the gathering and noted that there were knights and representatives from different kingdoms. Since only three of the pact wielding knights had survived the first time he wondered how many knights without powers had died in order to make their mission a success. Beyond that he knew that one of the three survivors was still around, the Hydra had disappeared almost immediately after the battle and no one was quite sure about the third. All that surrounded the three survivors were rumours and speculation but he was almost certain that their help would be needed…if they were actually alive.

      His ears perked up at king’s words about someone being made king or queen. They struck a bitter nerve within him. He’d given up his kingship in order to help them in their efforts against the dragon but having his childhood dream and desire torn from his hand like that was a deeply painful thing.

      He shook himself from his thoughts and took a look around. He didn’t know who was who and which knights were the ones who wielded the beasts. Eventually a woman, looking no older than forty, stepped forward dressed in dark navy mage robes. The robes were long and flowing with numerous golden runs and scripts upon them. He sleeves were long and wide hiding her arms and hands in their depths. She had long white hair, cold hazel eyes, and beautifully cold facial features. Upon the top half of her face was a near transparent, ice blue, swirling tattoo of sorts. It glinted in the light and carried the same glossiness as melting ice. Her skin was pale, pinkish hue and her ears were pointed which hinted at her elven lineage. She didn’t seem like or carry the same auras that normal and dark elves carried…she seemed very different…perhaps not elven at all.

      “Would the knights wielding the pacts please follow me…Oh and no need for entourages to follow either…” she said looking pointedly at the desert-princess and her people.

      She waved at the gathering with her hand and revealed long and sharp fingernails which had been painted white.

      Fuerot looked at Lilly and Rubicon and shrugged.

      “Guess that’s us…”

      As Feurot walked past the crowd to follow the mage he heard the dark-elf talking and talking rather brashly.

      You’re in? Everyone is here because we’ve already pledged our allegiance, you being ‘in’ doesn’t surprise or impress anybody. It would do you some good to realise that there are warriors far more grizzled and bloodthirsty here than a loud elf…like you.”

      He maintained eye contact for second, clearly not impressed by what he was seeing or hearing. Feurot then continued on his way inside, following the mage who had called those with Pact Beasts.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      It was inevitable that a smile would paint across her face as Hiver spoke to her. She was always a cheerful girl, but whenever she had the pleasure of having Hiver's company, it gave her a profound joy that was reflected upon the smile that always accompany it. He was indeed a refreshing presence. Many years ago, humans and elves had a certain animosity between them. There was no bloodshed for each race stayed within their boundaries and territories. But whenever either met by the star's fate, the tension was disturbing. It saddened her for the animosity between them was reflected in nature and nature felt disturbed, scared, and uneasy about it. When Hiver began to frequent the Elven Village, it was no surprise that her people were reluctant to accept his presence, even if he was a Knight. That was why Serafina felt compelled to be the first to approach him. In order to break away the silent feud among them, she had to take the first step. After all, Hiver had wanted to do so as well by coming to them and she very much respected that.

      Entering the castle, she met with the remaining Knights who impatiently awaited for the King. Serafina had not become acquainted with any of them. Elves were a rather secluded race. She did, however, knew about the Knights by reference thanks to Hiver and her own personal studies. But that was as familiar to them as she was. Now that they would have to cooperate she would have to make an effort to know them more personally. It was only proper. Taking her place beside Hiver, she pulled down the hood and exposed her face. It wasn't long before the King made his appearance and explained with more detail the gravity of the situation. The idea of slaying a creature gave her a bitter taste. Not matter how foul a living creature was, it always tasted bitter to take its life away before the stars claimed it themselves. Being uncharacteristically timid, Serafina did not approach any of the other Knights. Some asked questions, others defied, and others remained silent like herself. This was the first time she had ever mingled with other races at the same time so the awareness of being far away from her kin was rather intimidating. Hiver's silent presence was what comforted her as such, she remained close by his side. It was no secret to her heart that she had grown attached to Hiver's person. Many males had attempted to courted her. Serafina was one of the beauties of her people, although that beauty would not last for long. That was something she had kept for herself though. No one other than the elders knew about the price of her pact. As such, the remainder of the elves were ignorant about her sacrifice and as such about her shortened lifespan. No male in his right senses would take a female who would die quickly. That was hardly a life of joy were the male would continue on living, perhaps mourning his mate's death, after a short period of happiness in their eyes. She did not want to hurt anyone. Therefor, she declined every courting and every offer given to her even if she admitted that there were some good candidates. Even so, she highly esteemed Hiver more than any of them. But just like with the others, her lifespan was an obstacle. Even more for him. He was granted continuous life while she was losing it.

      "The land wails in fear from what may come due to the dragon's reappearance. Although it saddens it the probability of losing one of their brethren, it is mostly afraid of the overall result." Serafina mentioned to Hiver with a look of profound concern. "It will be a relatively easy feat finding the dragon's resting place though. The closer we are to her the more I can hear the land pleading. I can hear it even now. I'm worry about the nature, Hiver. I do not want us to harm it."

      Kyle growled at the mention of the dragon being back, sharpening his claw gauntlets against each other. He narrowed his eyes under his wolf helm, growling a bit louder. The last one that had the wolf spirit was killed by the last dragon, and the beast within him remembered it. He looked toward Rosaline, seeing her react to the news of the dragon. He walked to her, placing a clawed gauntlet on her shoulder carefully. He knew the price of her pact was her speech, but he knew that she would still hear his words.

      "Don't worry, I will make sure you survive. Relax, it might even be fun.... kinda..."

      It was obvious that he did not reassure others all that often, living by himself in the forest and all that. He was hoping that his fellow knight would forgive his lack of social skills and realize the attempt was genuine. He had no idea how many of them would make it back, but there was something about her that made him want to protect Rosaline from harm. It was a new feeling for the lone wolf, one that he was going to take some getting used to.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      Xiraen felt the disturbances in the wind as the girl opposite him promptly ignored his presense and left to be with someone more entertaining or likeable. He didn't mind being ignored for he was used to it, having spent so much time away from his own race and so much time with such a war-mongering and hateful race would do that to anybody regardless of race. Shortly after the girls soft footfalls had left his wide hearing radius, an ancient but low creak signalled the opening of a door to his left that preceeded a soft hustle of steps as multiple people emerged from within, one set of steps being more sure and assertive than any of the rest.

      So our king is a man of honour and strength among his ignorant race, not just a false face? Good, the coming terror inspired by sure leakage of the dragons awakening will have him needing those qualities, of that I am sure. While Xiraen thought things about humans that may seem harsh, he was just accepting the blunt truths to himself and not beating around the bush - Xiraen would never speak out about a person in a negative manner unless it was fully justified, let alone a whole race.

      The bustle stopped and a fom the silence came the boom of a gong, splitting Xiraens hyper sensative ears with reckless abandon and bringing him great pain. The courtyard fell into silence, each of the knights and the surrounding crowds dimming their conversations before fully snuffing them out. The king told of the awakening of the dragon to those in the crowd who didn't have the mental capabilities to piece together their calling and their powers and come out with that very reason. A woman next to him stepped forward after the kings short speech and speaks of their powers shortly before a few other people step up, each talking about something else just as, in not more, self-explainatory. The last of the women tell knights with pacts, such as Xiraen himself, to move into the castle proper.

      Good, my mind was beginning to numb from all the unnecessary talk being tossed around out here, polluting the perfectly clean air ways. None of Xiraens thoughts reaching his face, the smile staying perfectly still, as if he hadn't noticed the leaving of the girl opposite him. Xiraen stands up to his full height of eight and a half feet tall in response to the offer and begins making his way towards the door, through all the other stationary or slower moving knights, using the sounds echoing back at him at different, almost imperceptably small, intervals to grasp the location of the steps and mount them accordingly. Xiraen crested the stairs and bowed his head slightly as he passed through the castle threshold to miss taking off the top of his head on the door frame.

      (ooc @Axwell , this is nothing personal )
      Skorn looked over Feurot and his atempt to insult him.
      "Bloodlust, maybe there is somone here who is as bloodthirsty as me, however, as for grizzled, you impudent young whelp, talk to me when you have a century of warfare under your belt, oh wait, you would be dead long before that especially if you insult somone before you know them". Skorn let out a wicked and contemptouse grin. He was full ready to draw his sword, what did he care and for once, his ogre wanted a bit of a fight aswell.
      "Care to test your mettle, or like the frightened child you appear to be, would you rather run and hide, clutching the folds of your mothers skirt". He turned his attention to those around him.
      "None of you look old enough to know battle, your all babes, or whelps, do any of you know war?" this time he didnt mean to insult any one, he was enquireing about his future allies and unlike Feurot they had not provoked him yet. He turned his attentions back to Feurot
      "Unlike you, i am not bound into servitude, i am here by my choice, and my choice alone, and you should be grateful for my help, rather than spit it back in my face". He hissed at him.

      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]

      The king's address was short and sweet, very well mannered and concerned for the well being of all. It was what made him such a great king, a man that Hiver could follow with a solid conscious. Once he retreated back into the castle, followed shortly after by the royal court, a hushed talking resumed over the warriors huddled in the courtyard. Hiver looked to Seraphina as she spoke in quiet words, her face was filled with quiet concern, slight pain inhabiting her beautiful eyes. " The only one who will taint the nature we hope to protect will be the dragon, one life to save many. It is a small price to pay, and snuffing out such a malicious creature is a loss that will be most likely celebrated rather than mourned." It was a harsh truth, and for the Elven people such a task was a rather sensitive one, the stars determined the fates of all living things in their society, and taking one before it's time was only seen as fit in a rare selections of situations as decided by the oracles and sages of their people. Hiver was aware of this, though he knew that all the elves would not go against the knights as they could hear the earth as it wretched in pain from the presence of the beast, if anything they sought to destroy it quicker than the knights were able to. Hiver's thoughts were interrupted as a woman appeared before the knights, bidding that they join her for another purpose, the knights followed, some taking some time to ponder the gravity of the situation at hand, others following with a collected calm. Tension had flared in the midst of the address, and the woman arrived in the right time to snuff out further objection to one another. The idea of pairing together was looking rather bleak, teamwork was an idea that was stubbornly rejected by many esteemed solitary warriors that made up the majority of the knights. Slowly everyone followed.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Lilly watched as Fuerot stumbled before her questions, not sure how to word it without sounding guilty, and as the thick sound of the gong resonated the halls of the corridors it gave Fuerot a much needed break from the interregation of the small girl. She followed the pair as they went to the courtyard, a few steps behind, bare feet pattering on the tiles that lined the floors of the corridors. And through Fuerot's small utter to Rubicon she had concluded that he was going to meet with the Phoenix warrior, that flashy woman that lead the parade as though the gypsy circus was in town. She held no objections to the thought, it would be fun to see the two battle, or come to a confrontation. A small wicked grin crawled on her doll-like face, tainting it's angellic visage for only a few short seconds before returning to a look of detached neutrality to any and all matters that were laid before her.
      The small group of knights huddled before the king, listening to his speech, digesting the information given, reading into his pain, seeing how serious the situation really was. And as the higher ups trickled away, a woman gave call to all knights to follow her. Breaking the slight amusement of a man calling out Fuerot, though he looked as though he was no match for him. She fluttered away from the pair, following the woman with out hesitation.
      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]
      As the dark-elf began flying off the handle Fuerot smirked confidently and nodded patronisingly.
      “Test my mettle? Against you? I can flay you with my bare hands; you’d hardly be a test for anything.”
      That didn’t seem to be mere threat and it seemed as though the Red Prince was being serious.
      “I wouldn’t be spitting in your face and verbally castrating you if you weren’t such a loud-mouth. Who told you we need your help? Do us a favour and make another choice….the choice to go home…or the choice to be less of a loud-mouth...either would suffice.”
      With that he turned and left, dark-elf’s loud talk had irked him already and he couldn’t imagine what being on a team with him would be like. Still, the task at hand was great and if teamwork was needed then he’d quite happily put his feelings aside. He walked into the castle behind Lilly and the orc.
      ---------------
      The woman looked at knights. A mysterious smile crept across her face as she took in the faces of each one. Her pale grey eyes locked with the eyes of each of them as they entered the room.
      “My name is Orva, I am an elder mage here at the castle. I’ve brought you together for several reasons. The first is that you introduce yourselves to one another.”
      It was a weird formality but considering how they were going to be working together it was best that they at least knew each other’s names and beasts.
      “The second reason is that besides your mission of killing the dragon you must be aware that the dragon is not working alone. Someone or a group of others released her so be aware and prepare accordingly and be prepared to face enemies besides her.”
      She moved towards a table, sat rather regally and motioned for them to do the same. Upon the table lay a map of the continent. Towns and villages were all marked out as well as the dragon’s presumed hiding place.
      “Lastly, one of you is missing. The Hydra.”
      Her gaze wandered over to Hestia and Hiver as if suggesting that they perhaps knew something.
      “He disappeared after the first battle with the dragon but since then no one has heard nor seen him. There have been whispers that he is still alive but for whatever reason he has decided to avoid all contact. If he was dead someone else would have inherited the Hydra beast…hence why we believe he is still alive.”
      She sighed before continuing,
      “2000 years is a long time to stay hidden and since he was one of the three survivors of that original battle his assistance would be greatly welcomed. What he has been doing all this time…I don’t know…If possible, find him. He won’t resist the call if you do.”
      She crossed her hands in her lap,
      “Now you all must decide how you are going to journey. I’d suggest listening to Hiver and Hestia…and then deciding upon a course of action. Also, now would be a good time to raise any questions you have.”
      Now the floor was open. The first group of knights had gotten on well enough but this group was filled with prodigies and veterans, royalty and commoners…and some definite egos.
      “Perhaps they shall do better than the first…” she thought to herself.
      Re: Dragon's Bane [[Fantasy RP]]
      Serafina nodded at Hiver's words, although it did not please her very much. They spoke the truth but the thought of taking a life before the stars tasted bitter and gave her pain. Even so, the land was pleading for help; to be protected from the greater damage that the dragon would cause. It was her duty as their medium to answer their call. A woman called for them and the knights followed as further detailed orders were given. However, a heated discussion arose between two of them. One whom she recognized as a dark-elf. Dark elves were outcasts among her people as such, it was highly unpleasant to know this one in particular would have to be her comrade. But for the sake of peace and the land, she would tolerate his presence to say the least and cooperate when needed. His comments vexed her. Nonetheless, she showed composure and her expression remained neutral.
      She wasn't sure whether to introduce herself or not. No one had done so. As such, her timid side began to surface once more. Regarding the second matter, she had suspected that the dragon's resurrection was not entirely her doing. The land whispered such things but it was too frightened to say anything. And then there was the Hydra. A subject in which she had no knowledge of besides what Hiver had told her. In which case, she could find him by listening to the nature. The woman had appointed Hiver and Hestia to speak up first and be the leaders. "Hiver." Serafina called out to him before he came forward to the rest of the group. "Would it be too troublesome for you if we worked together? That is...would it trouble you if I remained close to you? I feel more comfortable with your presence near me. It will help me better express myself." She said rather sheepishly, something uncharacteristic of her usual bold character. She couldn't help but slightly look away as she spoke. But her words were the truth. Knowing he would be with her gave her even more confidence in herself to be able to fully express her thoughts and opinions. She had to learn for now she was to cooperate with other races whom she had barely seen if not at all.
      At then, she chose to take the first step and took a deep breath. "Greetings to all Knights." She performed the traditional elven greeting by pressing her two fingers upon her lips, touching her heart and extended them. "May the stars watch over you all. My name is Serafina Falchor and my pact beast is the Griffon. I sincerely hope we can cooperate and that I can be of help. If it is searching, you would find my ability to communicate with nature useful. I hope we can accomplish our mission without hurting the land too much." She then bowed as she concluded and looked at Hiver with a grin of triumph.
      Xiraen had listened carefully to the woman's words, from the way she spoke them she was obviously in a position of power and was sure of herself. It appears all of the strong willed and less corrupt humans live withing this town. I must have been protecting the backwater towns of this continent. he thought, taking his seat and removing his now unnecessary hat before placing it on the table before him. The woman finished her talk and offered place for questions, but before Xiraen could speak up, a trepid girl who had yet to sit spoke up, introducing herself to everyone and giving her merits for finding this Hydra. As soon as she was finished, Xiraen looked at the origin of her voice and nodded curtly to the little elf.
      His solid white eyes standing out stark against his blue skin, Xiraen spoke up about himself, the echos of his deep Orcan voice within the room disorienting his senses slightly, "I am Xiraen, more commonly known as the unmovable Orc by lowland towns. Regardless, I have a question for you, Orva; are we only assuming that hydra is alive still instead of pondering the possibility that he died and the next inherited lives somewhere so remote that it may not even be on this continent? Does anyone know if he actually possessed the ability to be undying?"
      Placing his hands on the table in front of his, knitting his massive, strong blue fingers together into the form of a tent for thought.
      Finally all had gathered and their King appeared, speaking to a mass of nobles and Knights, which Hestia thought unwise, until he spoke of the dragon rising once more and taken flight. The news was not taken well by many, mostly the lesser knights and nobles, while her brothers and sisters tightened their jaws, flexed their sword hands in grim determination. Hestia sagged into her chair a little, bowing her head as memories came unbidden; along with a joyful voice within her.
      ’The more you have of me, the less you see. What am I, beautiful?’
      “Darkness.” She whispered to no one, feeling the laughter rebound within her mind.
      The old crone Orva spoke, but Hestia did not listen, mostly out of dislike to the old sorcerer that held the King’s ear. Perhaps it was mutual, but Hestia never broached personal qualms with others lightly.
      “… The Hydra.” Hestia snapped her eyes to Orva and listened intently. Rothraiiger was still missing; nothing had changed for two centuries. Hestia herself had scanned the entire realm and others in search of him, some scrap of his visage. Just like her time, it was useless and she resigned herself to the thought that he did not wish to be found; that he wanted to cope with what they saw, and did to himself. She instinctively rubbed the pack of her hand, where he had planted so many kisses before the dead of the dragon.
      As the old mage suggested that the group listen to Hiver and herself, Hestia shot her a glare before switching back to her usual bright smile and welcoming gaze. Turning to Hiver, Hestia inwardly signed, having missed someone she counted as a friend. Much like Rothraiiger and herself, Hiver dwelled on that night, moving away from the castle and their friendship to swim in the lives of elves once more. That saddened her just as great as Rothraiiger disappearance. They three that survived, but they were the walking dead. She also missed the soft skin of Hiver’s cheek upon her hand.
      As she watched, Hestia saw a young elf talk to her old companion, smiled shyly and almost coy. Hestia raised an eyebrow in interest as the two interacted, trying to place a name to Knight which she had not met. She had not meet many of the Knights, but knew their names, general appearances and of course their powers. White hair and lithe of built, she put the name Serafina to the face; a Griffon. She scanned the rest of the assembled Knights, putting names to faces that continued to look younger and young, although their appearances were a constant lie.
      ’I wonder if Rothraiiger, Hiver and I looked much the same back then?” She felt old, be it in truth she was, but her skin looked like a woman almost grown with russet hair, pale complexion and long legged. She, as most elves were, quite alluring. Hestia, living in the cities of man for centuries, constantly accentuated her looks with fitting gowns and silks over leather and metals like her brothers and sisters.
      The young elf Serafina had stepped forward and timidly introduced herself, sweeping her hand in the usual greeting of her kin. Hestia looked away at the greeting, preferring to looks at the Knights once more than see a greeting her kin would never share with her again.
      Finished with her introduction, another named forward, a beast at eight feet tall. An Orc was a specitcal to be seen anyplace, especially in a human castle, serving a King. ’First a Dark Elf, now an Orc and me in wonder of it all.’ The previous group had been mainly humans with few elves. Seems this time around the Beats were a little more free thinking.
      ”…are we only assuming that hydra is alive still instead of pondering the possibility that he died and the next inherited lives somewhere so remote that it may not even be on this continent? Does anyone know if he actually possessed the ability to be undying?”Hestia knew the Orc was merely curious and made a valid point, but it did not taste well to her.
      “Rothraiiger is not dead.” The Pale Beauty lost some of her luster as he propped her elbows on the table and placed a hand on her chin. Her smile receded to thin lips as she spoke, keeping eye contact and not allowing Orva to interject with her nonsense. “If he had so carelessly died then myself or Hiver would have known and at least told the other.” She pointed to her old companion across the room with her chin, not breaking eye contact with the Orc. “If - and I hold no truth to him falling in some far old land – if he died and another chosen, they would have made themselves known. Before us stands an Orc and a Darl Elf, and if I am not mistaken they are still common enemies to all those standing in this very room. One like us cannot choose our paths; they would have made themselves known.”
      There was no anger towards the Orc, that much she at least had shown in her tone of voice, but she smiled a weak smile at him all the same, looking to Hiver to interject a lull in the meeting that would probably take place. She didn’t want to speak anymore, preferring to already be back in her room scrubbing this day from her memories.
