im finally starting to do things for myself because it makes me happy and people cant seem to get it through their heads.

It's good to be selfish when you need it, you can only do so much for other people.

I was married, once. We weren't in a perfect relationship, but we had our good moments. In fact, I would say we had better moments than most married couples receive in a lifetime. We went to dinners, movies, hung out with friends, and even went camping when time permitted. But the one thing holding us back ended up being the doom of our relationship: money.

One day, she decided she wanted to join the Air Force (I couldn't, because I have seizures, and they wouldn't accept me). We talked a while about it, weighing the pros and cons. Life in the service would be difficult, but she had the aptitude for it and I knew it. After a few hours of casual chatting, I agreed and supported to let her go. She shipped off, and went to basic training.

I wrote her at least once a week, if not more. All of these letters contained my support for her, cheering her on and reminding her how much I loved her. She never sent any response, nor did she call me when the opportunities arose. Maybe she wrote me at first, but she eventually stopped writing anything remotely filled with love and then stopped writing all together. I knew shit was going down. The feeling that I was getting royally fucked haunted me.

Then I went to her graduation.

While in Texas, she ignored me, and she did so with such fervor that I felt like a ghost. When she turned to me as I broke out in tears, she told me she wanted a divorce, and I ended up flying home that same day.

Why does any of that matter? Well, because while she never told me why she wanted a divorce, I realize now it was from pure selfishness. And you know what? I don't hold it against her in the least. Anything you can't sacrifice pins you down. I believe that whole-heartedly.

Of course, that doesn't mean you should drop all your friends and say fuck 'em, but it does mean you reserve the right to be selfish.

@Kistara I'm sorry your marriage didn't work out, I wonder what her reasons were for wanting the divorce though. I can tolerate almost anything usually, but like with everyone I have a limit and recently it was crossed, Pi has said I should cut the "friends" in my life that constantly ask for my help, and when they don't need me anymore throw me away until next time but I've always had trouble telling people how I feel, I'm a very closed book to most people..

Also, I'm not an alien, I'm just weird. I've had a turkey sandwich before~

Hey @Th!nkPi , I was wondering how one might get involved as a writer for Yilb. Browsing through the website, I noticed there was no information with regards to how to actually apply (About Us was as close as I got). Is there a particular subject that needs covering? Also, if you don't mind my asking, do your writers get paid? Is most of your revenue generated through ads or is there some other source? What type of commitment are you looking for from your writers? Do you accept random submissions as long as they accommodate the target audience? I enjoy the way articles are written on Yilb, it caters to students with little time on their hands, or those of us with short attention spans

P.S. Money's not really my concern, I'm just curious. Loving what I do comes first and foremost, the rest is just an added perk.

Edit: I saw on your FB that writers don't get paid, so you can scratch that question. Still, I am interested about the details.

LOL Rass it maybe is, but my philosophy is to be good and dear, because I am so , then sometimes I'm naughty, now how can be naughty a dear and good person? Not much........And here is the mistake But shhhhhhhhh it's a secret! <3
