Anime I just don't get into

^ I felt that way at first, but the manga/show grew on me soon afterwards.

It's not that I haven't tried! But no matter how much I want to I can't get into One Piece >_>

Space Dandy. It's one of those shows you have to sit down and watch, I barely have time! I'll have to put aside an hour to watch it someday.

Not anime, but animated: Steven Universe. The animation's neat, characters are varied and interesting but it's just kinda boring and flat to me.

Hmmm if I went by anime's that many people love that I struggled to get into but plan on giving another opportunity to down the line as I have been advised it is due to a slow start I would say Gurren Lagann, gave up around episode 5 as it just didn't capture me, another more recent one was Gankutsuou, but I feel that was because I went in with expectations of it too high from what I had heard, got to about episode8 and felt the story was moving relatively slow for the mind set I was in at the time

If an anime hasn't hooked you by the end of the first few episodes, it's best to move on. Although usually it's I'm trying to watch the anime on tv and miss some episodes and lose track. Annoys me. Adult Swim here in the US will play all the episodes they've got, go back to the beginning, then work in the new episodes as they arrive - which means you're waiting months for them to get back to where you left off.

@Tobi_Uchiha I'm exactly the same. One Piece just feels "messy" to me in a way, and although there ARE times I have thought it was funny, most of the time it seems a bit too childish (and the art work is pretty weak).

That being said though, I also struggle with Bleach and Wolf's Rain, even though I love the style of Wolf's Rain >.< I can't win!

I was surprised to learn that One Piece was older than both Naruto and Bleach with regards to when it was originally released. Maybe that is why the art work seems weak. Maybe they just haven't had a reason to change stylese if its still popular and being watched??

One anime that I didn't care for even though I watched the whole thing Was S-cry-ed. My uni roommate said it was good, but personally I didn't care for it. I think he liked it more cuz of the cars :/

Same! I like Gainax and seemed like a good show, but I just wasn't being pulled back and it eventually got put in my drop list at about the same episode.

I just don't really get into that many Mech-type anime. They just don't do anything for me interest wise.

I used to watch Naruto Shippuuden religiously, but then I stopped watching when the war fillers came, and now I can't get back into the anime, knowing that for two main plot episodes, there's around 4-8 fillers after that.

There are a number that I was into originally then kind of lost them and never felt like getting back into them. Bleach is one. I had been caught up and watching consistently until the arrancar arc. I ended up reading the manga after that and read all the way through the fullbring arc. but then I just stopped reading. I had gotten tired of so many crappy fillers and inconsistencies and "actually"s in the manga that it made me sick. So I dropped it.

I can say there are a number of anime I never really got into, but I have a pretty darn good track record of finishing almost everything I start, no matter the genre. I will find crappy anime in just about every one, but though I am not really into it after a few episodes, I will usually get around to watching it later.

So, basically, if I don't make it through an anime it's either because I got really really sick of it's crap (Usually only happens with longer series) Or I haven't had the time to get to it. Out of the list of around 200 anime I've seen (that I made on one of those time-counting, anime listing sites) I have completley finished around 130 of them, am currently watching about a dozen, stalled a little over 30 and have only ever completely dropped around 20.

Geez. 2200 anime o.O I'm still only in my double digits. no where near the 3 digits. And probably wont get near it for a while as i don't have as much free time to watch as many as i used to now

But i'm like you in that anything i do start i'm more than likely to finish it.

Elfen Lied. I watched them all but it was a chore. Attack On Titan was the same. Was good, not excellent. Ending was shocking
