I got updates!

So thanks to a fellow fur, I managed to get some resin blank eyes and fur scraps for free.

Painting resin blanks is new to me, and it's a tricky thing to do. Not only do you have to paint "backwards" - pupil first with the iris action around it, but also the lens effect scales everything up so you need very tiny, precise lines.

Here's a bodge job I did though -




I also have my jogging bottoms ( thanks Primark) but they need some painting to get rid of text.

And I redid them again, and they're a lot better looking now. Lots of experimenting with dry brushing and layers.



And now I can install them on my mask sculpture and start papermaching

Oh man they look so good, and intense! very pretty! The colours are spot on! I would get so confused doing it backwards! Enjoying the progress shots etc. Hope the next bit goes smoothly!

Resin eyes installed on the mask. I've got to reinforce the eye/cheek area and then working on the details, like wrinkles, teeth etc and the lower jaw.



Fluffy trousers! WIP as I add patches of fur, trying to create some feathering with a creamy coloured fur under the white.

Updates!

So, one of the eyes ( the bird's left) had started to crack for some reason. The other eye is fine but I had to wash through all the previous paintwork and do it again. Whilst it was in the mask - fiddley!

It's not quite a match but it'll do.

And now we've got the base paint down. I've also worked on the wing fingers, I'll post a video of them shortly.

Those eyes look awesome, as that close up has a pretty evil stare going on! hehe
